About the Book:
In the profession of pharmacy,
Industrial Pharmacy is an important area because it is a discipline that
involves manufacturing, analysis (quality control), quality assurance,
formulation development, marketing, and distribution of various drug products.
Accordingly,
the students are supposed to understand the manufacturing and evaluation of
different types of drug products. They should know why and how the preformulation
studies are carried out. The syllabus has been designed by the Pharmacy Council
of India to implement across the country. This has been expected that after
completion of the subject the students are expected to know the various
pharmaceutical dosage forms and their methods of manufacturing, various aspects
of the development of pharmaceutical dosage forms, preparation, and evaluation
of different types of solid, liquid, and semisolid dosage forms.
The
book has been prepared with great care utilizing simple language so that the
reader from any background can understand the concept easily.
The
book has 10 chapters comprising the syllabus has been divided into 10
chapters–Preformulation studies, Tablet, Capsules, Pellets, Liquid orals,
Aerosol products, Cosmetics, Parenteral Products, Ophthalmic products,
Packaging Material Sciences.
Although
the author has taken various steps to make the book error free, despite this if
any mistake in spelling or in meaning is found, please do not hesitate to
inform the author so that necessary corrective measures can be taken. |
About the Author:
D. K. Tripathi, has been working as Director,
Pharmacy of Santosh Rungta Group of Institutions, Bhilai. He had been the Dean
of Faculty and the Chairman of BOS, Pharmacy, CSVTU (Chhattisgarh Swami
Vivekananda Technical University). He has been in profession of Pharmacy since
1974 for about forty-five years. He possessed both industrial and academic
experiences.
He
has successfully worked in various academic Institutions in West Bengal,
Odisha, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. During his work he has understood the
need of the students for which he has authored ten books. More than hundred
fifty research and review articles have been published in various National and
International journals of repute. He has supervised about six scholars at PhD
