About the Book
This book was developed in an attempt to provide a comprehensive guide to the techniques available for solubilizing drugs in aqueous vehicles. Since surfactant solubilization is extremely important in pharmaceutical systems and is by far the most studied of the techniques covered, it is discussed in the greatest detail in the book.
Solubilization by cosolvents, complexing agents, crystal modification, and prodrug formation can individually or in combination be an extremely valuable means of solubilizing drugs. Each of these techniques is discussed from both the theoretical and practical points of view.
